Boxes
Standard moving boxes come in a variety of sizes, and also in a number of specialty styles for particular items. They are all built with strong cardboard to withstand the rigors of transport. If you just want to get on with your move, look at the box kit calculator - otherwise scroll down for more detail on boxes.
This online box calculator will suggest a moving box kit
for the number of rooms you are moving.

Types of Boxes
Medium Moving Box

- The smallest box, used for packing books and
other small, heavy items.
Large Moving Box

- The standard sized, squarish box.
Useful for packing most common household items.
Extra Large Moving Box

-
A more spacious carton for large, light items, such as bedding.
Dish Pack

- An extra strong box, for dishes and other small, fragile items.
Wardrobe Moving Box

- A
large, tall box, with a metal bar that can be placed along the top.
This bar provides a place form which to hang clothes and keep them from
becoming wrinkled.

mirrors.
Other
Important Packing Materials
Packing Paper

- The most
important ingredient in good packing is liberal use of newsprint.
The moving paper that you buy is similar to that from your
newspaper, but without printing to rub off on your fingers and
belongings.
Packing Tape

-
High quality packing tape is essential. Many items have been
broken when the bottom of a box came un-taped. Use 2 or 3
strips for safety.
Tape Gun

- Professionals may rip tape with their fingers, but
most new packers will want some type of tool to help make cutting tape
an easier process.
Paper Pads

- Paper
pads are large sheets with several pieces of paper attached together.
These can be good for wrapping large pictures or lamps before placing
in boxes.
Bubble Wrap

- These specialty items are not used too
regularly by movers, but can make it easier to pack particularly
fragile pieces.
