Some of the Basic Supplies Include:
Boxes - High quality cardboard moving boxes give you a way to protect and organize the items you are moving.Box Cart - These 2 wheel hand trucks are for carting around boxes and other items. Good carts will have air-filled tires and a nice wide blade.
Appliance Cart - Another type of 2 wheel hand truck, appliance carts are more heavy duty than box carts. They tend to weigh more and have a system for strapping appliances to the cart.
4 Wheel Dolly - This rolling platform gives you an easy way of moving large, heavy pieces of furniture.
Moving Pad - These heavy-duty blankets provide protection for furniture and are strong enough to stand up to years of use.
Logistics Strap - True moving vans have tracks in the walls into which these straps attach. Check out your truck - if renting there is a good chance this type of strap will not do any good.
Twine - Many rented trucks have loops in the walls through which twine can be run. This is a low budget way of securing your goods.
Piano Board - Piano Boards Allow you to strap a piano to a board with handholds. This makes it easier to move and helps protect the piano.
Mattress Covers - Many movers use cardboard boxes for mattresses, but for the do-it-yourselfer, convenient plastic covers are the way to go.
